Project Sources
Library Journal
http://www.libraryjournal.com/
Library Journal was founded in 1876 by Mellville Dewey and has the highest circulation of all library-related journals.
I chose this source because of its wide distribution, as it is likely to have many articles on the topic of surveillance and privacy issues in libraries. I also chose it because along with the journal itself, its website features a wide array of library-related content.
ALA Journal of Intellectual Freedom and Privacy
https://journals.ala.org/index.php/jifp/
The Journal of Intellectual Freedom and Privacy is the official journal for ALA’s Office of Intellectual Freedom.
I chose this source because a significant part of its focus is on issues of privacy and surveillance, and because it is an open access journal.
Library Freedom Project
https://libraryfreedomproject.org/
The Library Freedom Project and its associated Library Freedom Institute is dedicated towards the right to privacy and the elimination of mass surveillance in libraries.
I chose this source because it’s one of the preeminent organizations focused on the topic I chose and will be a valuable source of information. Another reason is because the organization is on the forefront of emerging digital trends, which is valuable when discussing issues of privacy rights and surveillance.
